What is more iconic than sailboats on the beautiful Bay of Quinte? Celebrating 150 years of spectacular sailing, building community all while having huge amounts of fun from 1876- 2026!

We are the fourth Oldest Yacht Club in Canada, and the second Oldest in Ontario. A year long Celebration of Jubilee Events is planned. Please join us in our Celebration.

Our Club

BQYC is located in the City of Belleville on the beautiful Bay of Quinte, a short walk from the newly revitalized downtown core.

Our club caters to the interests of both sailing and power boaters through our various programs in cruising, racing in keelboats or dinghies, sail training, or simply socializing at the Long Reach Bar. We also have an active social calendar.

Note that BQYC is a self-help club, and our expectation is that members will contribute to such activities as the organizing of events, house and grounds maintenance, sailing school, etc.

Experiences at Bay of Quinte Yacht Club

Learn To Sail

Every summer BQYC offers sail training programs for youth. All Sail training programs operate from the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club (BQYC) located at the tip of Victoria Harbour in Belleville. The air-conditioned building and classrooms are designed for training and larger groups.

Visitors

Come for a visit by boat or by car. Stop in during open hours for a tour of our facility. For boaters, there is a well-protected visitor’s dock available adjacent to the club house with enough space for 2 boats on each side as well as one boat across the end. At mid-summer there is 7ft of water depth on each side.

Social Sailing

We offered a mentorship program for new members looking to get into sailing. Members will show you the ropes! Here on the Bay of Quinte we are fortunate to have one of the best places to sail anywhere in the world. Experience the thrill of sailing this summer and enjoy it for the rest of your life.

Hall Rentals

Need a location for your next event? The Bay of Quinte Yacht Club is situated on the south shore of Victoria Park with panoramic views overlooking the beautiful Bay of Quinte. We can accommodate up to 96 guests for events such as adult birthday and anniversary parties, celebrations of life, awards banquets, corporate events, seminars, business meetings and small weddings with an area for a DJ or a small band plus a dance floor.

Become a Member

Interested in becoming a member? Some of the main benefits include use of the clubhouse, grounds facilities and bar, participate in a variety of club social events, member discounts on club rentals and Learn-to-Sail programs, club racing and regattas, use of the dinghy launch, and lift-in, lift-out and storage for boat owners.

We have made joining the BQYC even easier for new members or members from days gone by! You can now pay monthly using direct debit or e-transfer.
